Performance horse feed suggestions in the Mid-Atlantic area

Have several horses in moderate work 6 days a week. Mostly TB.

We moved back here and I’m wondering if there’s a great option I’m missing.

Horses have been fed TC Complete and Cavalor Strucomix/Endurix in the past, switched and currently on Nutrena Pro force Fuel for past 2 years which I’m happy with but a few don’t love it (especially OTTBs who are used to sweet feed!)
I mix in Alfalfa cubes for the harder keepers plus Amplify. Horses get between 7-10 lb a day.

All are on very nice pasture 16 hours a day.
Is there a great feed I am unaware of?

Needs:
High Fat
decent Fiber
NSC below 20
Palatable

Would like to stay below $20 a bag. If there’s not a better option for this herd I will stick with the Fuel.
Suggestions? Thanks!

Is there a reason not to go back to the TC Complete?

You might consider Purina Ultium - I think more than $20/bag, but it’s so high in calories and fat you may find you feed less than the others.

Farmers Coop in Frederick, MD, has a wide range of quality feeds. I believe they have other locations too. I don’t know current prices though.

I would call your local feed stores and find out what brands they carry, or could special order for you. There’s no point in people suggesting feeds you won’t be able to get in your area.

Highland Feed and Seed in Maryland has an excellent selection of high quality feed. Very popular with sport horse community.

I have great results with TC Senior and tbs. I get skinnies from the track for r&r, and they all respond well. I think I pay $23 a bag.

Yes, TC Senior. I do feed it to my older, retired TB, but our younger TB mare has been eating it since she was 4 (she is now 11) and looks fantastic.

Tribute Feeds, cost effective and my TB’s bloomed after I switched to Tribute from TC

We feeds Legend’s Carb Care Performance Pellets to all of our TBs in hard work. We pick it up at any Southern States

I agree with the Purina Ultium if you can spring the slightly higher price.

My TB does well on it and he seems to be quieter on it than he even was on the Pennfields Fibergized Omega. Maybe it’s my imagination but since he has been switched between the two due to different boarding situations, he always seemed better behaved when on the Ultium.
