performatz vs equimat

so am looking for a better alternative than regular mats for my guy with navicular.
Have looked at the mattresses, soft stall etc.

Was looking at equimats, & performatz. Both will be significantly easier for me to get into the stalls correctly.

Performatz are about 1/2 the cost of the equimats.

Has anyone seen both? Does anyone have these in their stalls currently? I saw some really old threads, are they holding up?

There is no one in my state that has either that I can go see in person.

Are equimats really worth twice the cost? Please any input would be helpful, all I have to go by is the dealers info, & of course both of them think there product is the best thing since sliced bread or they wouldn’t be selling it.

I use equimats

I have no experiemce with performantz

I am very happy with my equimats. I’ve had them in my stall for 7 years. They lock and stay in place nicely.

They don’t fee that soft to me as a human, but I did notice that when my horse had an abscess in her hoof, she walked and stood on the equimats as comfortably as on her hog fuel paddock, whereas on the regular black mats she would have been lame or even refused to come inside her stall. So I think they are more comfortable.

Honestly when I look at the two websites, the price is about the same and the product looks similar.

when I called the performatz folks, the quote was about 1/2 the equimat. (the performatz are larger, so less of them)
I am looking at the thicker equimats - are yours staying level after 7d years? No depressions or unevenness?

the equimats have held up very well. this past summer there has been a bit of a puffing up in one matt in the middle of the stall, not sure if it has stretched or just shifted a little. It is not causing a problem and I haven’t had the mental energy to deal with it.

@Scribbler, do you have the regular thickness or the extra thick equimats?

regular

I have the extra thick equimats and love them. So much better than traditional rubber, lighter and softer. I looked at stall mattresses but wasn’t interested in those since you have to screw them to the sides of the stalls. I’ve also been in several barns with them and they were lumpy after not that long. I didn’t like that the horses were on such uneven surfaces.

how long have you had them, & how are they holding up?
