Thanks Melissa!

The dam of successful FEI level dressage competitor and American Hanoverian Society licensed stallion, Weltbekannt (http://www.somedaysoonfarm.com/pages/stallions.html), is by Imperator.

If the buyer and seller agents/trainers are honest about their expected commissions, then why is the identity of the owner of the horse kept secret? This is something I have always questioned, even in this country. Why can’t the buyer write out the check to the owner/seller for the purchase price without commissions. Then, the commissions can be paid separately. The only reason for hiding the real name of the horse and/or owner is so that the agents can add exhorbitant undisclosed commissions and it’s the seller and the buyer that get screwed.

THis is why

sellers/owners & buyers want to go outside of the trainer/agent, but still fly on the carpet of your training efforts.

London is 2012 and 2016 is still up for grabs. But Hindsight has 2020! Excellent. The armchair quarterbacks will have a kitten that all of their work will already be done for them.

Thank you!

Hi,

While I only dream of going to Europe on a horse buying excursion I have always wanted to know more about how one goes about it. Thanks so much for sharing this. Maybe someday!
