Pessoa Options and Opinions

Hello!

I am between buying a Pessoa A/O (lighter) or a Gen-X Elite (darker). Both are AMS panels. Both have the gullet XCH system. They are within $100 price-wise, with the A/O being just a smidge more expensive.

All else being equal, what would you pick? I rode in an A/O (with an FL flap) and liked it. I haven’t ridden in a Gen-X elite, but did hear they wear out faster (not sure if that is true). I was sort of hoping to do the Bayflex foam, since I’ll be riding different horses with it. Would you recommend I wait and find a Bayflex, or is the AMS okay also?!

It may just be the light, but the elite is already showing more wear. I BELIEVE it’s because they did calf/covered leather with that one, while the other is full grain. The full grain will definitely last a million years longer.

I personally prefer the flock as it can be adjusted if you end up riding one horse most of the time, just have it checked for lumps periodically. Pessoa puts a foam layer between the flock and the horse to help with that too.
