Hi! I’m trying to track down a picture of a horse that raced in the 1990’s. I have the races he won just not sure where to begin this search. Anyone offer any suggestions. Below are the races he won.
Horses name: Giveityourbestshot
Pimlico 9/18/1994, 7th race (allowance)
Philadelphia Park 6/16/1994, 8th race (allowance)
Pimlico 4/5/1995), 6th race (claiming)
Laurel Park 11/11/1993, 6th race (claiming)
Pimilico 8/14/1993, 6th race (claiming)

Contact the track photographer at those tracks and ask if they still have those photos.
The photographer from Philadelphia Park in the mid 1990s passed away several years ago. The family did not save the negatives.

You might be able to find contact information for the owner at the time. Most people keep their win pictures for life. If you can get in touch they might be willing to scan and email you a copy.

What a great idea. Now question is how do I find out who the owner was? This horse is not mine. He’s a good friends horse which boards in my barn. I’m searching this down for a Christmas present for her. I have the information from Equibase.com. If the information is correct he was owned by Aryes Fountain Spring Farms in MD. He was a MD bred horse. Bred by John O’Meara & Country Life Farm. I did an internet search for Aryes Fountain Spring Farm but did not find any contact info. Does anyone know if they are still in business and if so does anyone have a contact??? Thank you again!
I don’t have current contact info for you, but I think you’re referring to the Ayres (not Aryes) family who are indeed still active. Joseph Ayres. They used to have a farm in Bel Air, Md… I’ve been out of the area for many years so I have no idea if the farm is still there. But I still see the family name crop up in racing news.
But if the horse was running in the claiming ranks, double check the old charts regarding the owners at the time of the wins. You need to do this because the owner listed at the top of the page on Equibase was the owner at the time of the last race, but horses, especially claimers, frequently change hands in their careers. You can find the owner for each race on Equibase by seaching for the horse by name, then clicking on the “results” tab. Next to each race there will be a green box to click on in the “chart” column. The owner of each horse will be listed on the chart at the bottom of the page.
You could contact Country Life Farm and see what they may have for contacts. They may even have a win picture.
