Since the exchange rate is so favorable right now, I am thinking of ordering some Pikeur breeches. I’m thinking of one schooling only pair in fun color (to me, navy blue is fun:)) and one show-worthy pair.
What color should I get for the show-worthy pair? I seem to recall trying on a pair a few years ago that were Sahara, but that’s when the greenish beige was popular.

Looking at the chart I liked the Sahara, but not up on trends.
For schooling I’d love to have a plaid that would be less likely to show dirt,
with sticky bum.
I love Piker - they fit me and last for e.v.e.r.
I believe Safari was the color that I used to show in (hunters). I don’t have them anymore and not being able to remember this for absolute certain is making me a bit nuts! But, 99% sure it was safari!
I’m pretty sure mine are Safari. (This is what they look like in action.) But looking at the chart, I’d think Sahara would be totally fine, maybe just a bit lighter. My Ciaras came from Calevo, and I don’t think Sahara was an option for them, only Safari.
Where are you getting them from? I’ve been doing some European shopping as well lately and I’m thinking I’d like to try a pair of Pikeurs…

I found them to definitely be bigger (specifically baggier) than trophy hunters…
Amira is where I’ve bought them before and was happy with the service.
Thinking of picking up a pair myself… is the Ciara the model of choice for the show ring?
I believe it is the Ciara. That’s what I have. Be aware that the Longs are seriously long, which is great if you really do need it, but they’re definitely longer than any other brand’s “long” I’ve encountered. Which to me was great, but YMMV.
I’ve done two orders from Calevo and been very happy, but given the exchange rate with the pound, Amira might be a better option, just check the pricing

I just got most of the way through the checkout process to buy two pairs of Pikeur breeches, said to myself YOU DON’T NEED ANY MORE BREECHES and then made myself close the window.
There’s still like a 75% chance I go through this process again tonight and end up buying things I don’t need… What is wrong with me!!

Did I have sufficient breeches to ride in? Yes, and most of them are tweaked in some way. I just like nice things and this is a rare occasion when I can afford them.

Just chiming in to say that for H/J, you can’t go wrong with the Ciara in Safari. And the fit is a bit roomier than the Trophy Hunters.
Chiming in as well, i am a solid 26L in Trophy Hunters and I wear Pikeurs Ciara 24L. I am not tall, nor do i have long legs, but the tall fits me perfect.
Ammy, listen to Bristol Bay, these breeches are da bomb. I’ve had them for years and they are still like new.
Agree with Faye, I sized down in the Ciaras and they are perfect! I’m trying to resist the exchange rate, especially as Amira has a pair in my size for less than $120… arrrrrg!
Good lord. Two pairs if Ciaras and a pair of Eskadrons I’ve been coveting are on my way…
