Pikeur breeches -- searching for perfect fit

I have a few pairs of Pikeur Mondegas that are probably close to 10 years old with no pilling on the seat. I want to buy new breeches of this quality again.

I’m 5’1, short legged, curvy hips and “short coupled”. Usually wear a 30-32. I don’t want super low rise, but often high waisted options come up to my bra. I’ve got a pair of BR breeches second hand from a friend that have a lovely wider waistband that hits me right at the belly button.

Any suggestions for Pikeurs or other high quality brands that will last like my old pairs of Piks have? I like the look of the Candelas, but wondering just how high waisted they’ll be on me…

If the Mondegas fit you well, the Luganas and the Lucindas will probably not work. The luganas are my favorite, bought a pair of Mondegas thinking they’d be great and it was noooo good.

The mondegas were a bit too high waisted. I thought the lucindas and luganas looked pretty straight cut rather than accommodating of bigger hips…

Gotcha, yes, the Luganas and Lucindas are cut pretty straight, was thinking if the Mondegas fit your hip to waist ratio, the ones I mentioned wouldn’t work so well. But the Luganas at least are the ideal rise for me…they sit in just the right spot.

I have the Luganas and find them quite comfortable. Maybe a little on the high side, but I probably could have gotten a size smaller. I am not very straight because I certainly have a backside and hips. I have no problems with the fit. I think my Luganas are my most comfortable pair of non winter breeches.

I also like Luganas. Question: if I like Luganas is there another Pikeur model I would also like?

If you like the Lugana, you would also like the Meredith, but I am not sure they still make them.

I live in luganas, but I am tall and can also wear the candelas. I bought a fancy pair from Pikeur called the Nayla that fit just like my Luganas. Love them. I am definitely not built straight. I am hippy with a waist.

Candela is straight up and down and highish waisted (I wear the size you mentioned but am a lot taller and have small hips)

i appreciate the feedback — I imagine they’ll be too tall for my tastes then!

Candelas fit me pretty well, and I definitely don’t have small hips! But they are quite high waisted.

Normany I think you need to try the Cindy. I love the Judy and found that the next best was the Mondega (I heard that the Meredith was same cut)

I second the suggestion to try the Pikeur Cindy breech.

Third the Cindy cut. I’m curvy (booty and muscley thighs) and they fit perfectly. And wear like iron! Love mine though in the winter I’m much prefer the comfort of full seat winter Kerrits.

Not to hijack but does anyone have recommendations for comfy piker winter breeech fabrics or choices? I usually order in from Amira but not sure what would work.

Luganos fit me perfectly and I am long waisted with hips. Candela also fits. I have had good luck with Rompf Sarafino (on sale at VTO) which is a little shorter in the rise than the Pikeurs. I haven’t tried Cindy.
