Just watched the streaming coverage of team/individual jumping. Does anyone have any more info on the bizarre incident of someone screaming everytime Pilar jumped? It clearly affected her and she was very upset.
According to the longer thread, someone in the crowd had lost track of his child and was screaming to find them? Not sure how verified this is.
Here is a link to photos and the reason. The fellow sure looks distraught.

Wow. What terrible timing but it seems legit. Too bad for all involved.
Not his child, his mother, according to the article.
I know performance horses need to be trained to get used to anything, including screaming spectators, but still. Like the high winds at the diving pool, seems to me some things should be a do-over. These are “Games,” after all.
I hope the man found his mom.
What with the events so far this year, I was pretty concerned for everyone there. I didn’t know what was about to go down. Disappointing for the rider.
Lol at the commentator “I remember my first beer…”
Seemed coincidental that every scream came right before the horse was about to take off…
I thought so too! And the screaming sounded more angry than anything else - it was pretty frightening.
I wonder if she even heard it? You know when you are in the zone, and the wind is rushing past your helmet/ears, it’s possible she may not have even noticed until the end. It may have sounded louder to us if he was closer to the announcers

From the reaction I saw, as she was leaving the ring, I think she had.
Yea, I think when she came off the last fence, she definitely heard it, but I would be interested if it even pierced the zone while she was jumping? She definitely seemed agitated when she was walking to the inspection area, I just wasn’t sure it was from that…
