This is that horrible old video of dog abuse that has been around for years. Nothing to see here from this troll.
Seriously? I would say the pit lost. the horse was savaging the dog.
Who goes looking for these videos. The horse was shaking the dog in its mouth, stomping it, Horse fine.
Quit looking for this trash.

I have seen that video and I wouldn’t call it a video of “dog abuse”. It is a video of someone trying to protect his horse from a dog attack. Looks like another country (other than the US) and that horse is probably that man’s livelihood and the dog is probably running loose where it shouldn’t be. I would have done the same thing in that case. I would have done whatever it took to stop that dog, with no care about the harm I was doing to the dog! Having lost livestock to roaming dogs, I would love to have a horse that would that aggressively attack a dog standing in my pasture.
I call troll too. Only posts on Menagerie, other than a cute Burt and Ernie video, it’s pitbulls.

Agree, poor dog was being abused. It’s not like there was vicious dog attacking an innocent horse right?

I think it was staged with both the dog and the horse being abused by the humans. That’s the way it looks to me, at least.
As for horses aggressively attacking dogs. I had a qh mare for 28 years that would chase dogs and try to paw and stomp them - with an intent to hurt them.
Dogs can and do chase horses. I have had two youngsters run over a pasture gait by neighbors pit bulls (and I like the breed, but these were allowed to run loose, or were sometimes chained). We threatened to shoot the dogs the next time the came to chase the horses (unfortunately they never went into the pasture where my big gelding is, he would have played football with them!), the dogs disappeared from the house. I do not blame the dogs, they were actually nice dogs, they had just found a fun game. It was stupid owners here.
Also had a neighbor’s boxer try to give chase to horses in the pasture, he got kicked airborne for his troubles. Taught him a lesson and thankfully did not kill him. Again stupid owner who could not keep him contained in her tiny back yard. Did not want to neuter him because it might make him a sissy! Again a lovely dog with no training and a idiot for an owner.

I really doubt that video is staged. Dogs will chase and attack horses. Like I said, I wish I had a dog aggressive horse to keep around my mini horses. Having loose dogs attack them is my worst nightmare. I have good fencing that is pretty dog proof, but not completely.
The horse’s behavior is completely normal for a prey animal that’s survived a predatory attack and over powered the predator. Oftentimes they vent all their adrenaline-amped power and frustration on the “poor predator” long after they’ve ceased attacking in a seeming fit of rage. It looks as if all that happened here was that the dog attacked the horse, the horse flipped out and had some help from humans, was able to over power and turn the tables on the dog and then it just unleashed a holy shit storm on the animal that just tried to kill it. I don’t blame him one bit.
That is an incredibly sick video.
I would put my money on that being set up, as in, the dog was trained to be a pit fighter. I bet that horse was known to be aggressive, and some idiot thought dog vs. horse would be fun. That dog went after the horse, then the horse went back after him. Dog never went for the people. That “Stick” the person (presumed dog owner) had, is what all dog fighters or “protection dog trainers” carry. It was not something picked up randomly. Neither was the video camera.
Poor dog. Poor horse.

This. I used the wrong word - I should have said setup as well. Awful video that I had seen before and just hated.

The dog rips the innocent horses neck while the person tries to stop it.
“Poor dog”
At the end of the video it looks like it might be a mule. I had a mini donk that would chase and stomp any 4 legged creature out of the pasture. He would go after cats and dogs that roamed in there, but he was more aggressive towards dogs. He never got a hold of an animal, but I imagine if he were being attacked by one he would have done something similar. He didn’t put up with crap from anyone.

Do you have anything to offer COTH other than hating pitbulls? Just curious.
Yeah. I said POOR DOG because it was trained to be a fighter. Im sure it wasn’t a stray puppy who decided to randomly go attack a horse. That dog very likely had fatal injuries, and should not have been put in that situation in the first place. Watch the video again, that man was NOT trying to break it up. Poor dog.

I had an appy that went for dogs. Dogs were not allowed at the yard luckily, but once a jack russel type got into their field and was chasing the other horses, he managed to grab it in his mouth and FLING it a good few metres. Pup was fine thankfully…

What do you mean not trying to break it up? There was no way to break it up. That dog was on a mission to attack the mule and was obviously not stopping. The guy was trying to defend the mule with that stick. The guy quits trying to stop the dog after the duel effort of both man and mule finally stop the dogs attack. This mule appears to be a working animal in another country (other than the US). There are other equines hooked up to a cart. The man is trying to maneuver the cart around at the end. Why would they set up a dog/mule fight in the street with other animals hooked to a cart? And if it was a set up, why did the guy go after the dog with the stick? If it was a set up to fight the mule and dog, they would have just let them fight it out. Unless the dogs owner thought it would be fun to sic the dog on the mule, then the dog owner lost his dog for his stupidity. It just doesn’t look like a set up fight between the mule and dog.

What I mean is, not that it was set up for this particular dog to attack this particular horse - but that it was a trained fighting dog. I think that man after time was definitely trying to kill the dog, especially after the horse got it good.
I think that was a fighting dog, who went after the wrong animal. He didn’t turn on the people, which is more common with the dogs trained to fight other animals.

Ah, I see what you mean. Yes, very possible it was a dog trained to fight.
