Thought I’d start it off. I can only volunteer on Saturday, but I’ll be in the vet box if you wanna say hi. Anyone else going?

Does anyone know if there’s a live stream this year? I’ve tried to find it but no dice.

No livestream this year

intgeresting that Eventing Nation has nothing about Plantation field. I usually go there for daily comments on US events.

Years ago EN raised a bruhaha about the name of Plantation Field. I could be wrong, but I don’t think they attend the event, and they might not cover it anymore. They refuse to call the event by its name. Long story!

During the heyday of the BLM movement, an earlier incarnation of EN staff started a social media frenzy demanding Plantation Field change its name. It was named for a planting of trees on the site and was never crop farmed or worked by slaves. Nasty things were said on both sides. The owner of the land was being attacked and put up his hand and said no more horse shows. Not recognized, not unrecognized, horse people are toxic. Local horsemen banded together and, in time, convinced him to change his mind. EN calls the event Unionville which is the FEI designation. (because it is in the town of Unionville, PA) The landowner and the locals call it Plantation. Not sure if EN is unwelcome on site or if they just choose to boycott the event.

I wondered if that was the reason. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face! Maybe they were banned.

I believe they are not welcome there anymore, but I could be wrong.
