Plantation/Unionville HT?

Anybody know why the scoreboard for 3* and particularly 4* is a sea of letters rather than numbers? Was the footing and weather the culprit. So tough for riders and organizers to decide re continuing to run - must have been many pairs that were desperate for a Qualifying ride.

Or maybe I’m speculating and the courses were just crazy tough. Any boots on the ground that can clarify?

It’s rained like 3 or 4 inches this weekend. There’s a tropical storm. The footing is actually pretty good all things considered but conditions are not ideal.

Boyd posted a gnarly photo on his Facebook page of his fall off Contessa. It looks quite damp and I imagine quite slippery.

OMG, only Boyd could make light of that!

I looked at the course map of the 3* , and there wasn’t anything that hasn’t been on the course in years past. I love PFI and it’s courses, was sad I didn’t go this year, but not so much after seeing the horrible weather. PFI is always big bold and inviting but I think the weather was a huge factor both days.

the photographer should win an award for that one!

I bet he’s spending some extra time in the ice tub tonight.

Especially since it was taken by a jump judge!

Makes me shudder to look at it though…

I have tried to take pictures when jump judging, but it is difficult to hold the camera and walkie-talkie at the same time! I didn’t shoot any pics this weekend.

Not only was it pissing down rain Plantation is just one giant hill on the best of days  Saturday ended up being dryer than expected but wind was bad. Sunday it was frankly just awful all day (my barn is next to Plantation so I wasn’t there there, but I was there) It was nice to see so many eventers in The Whip Saturday evening though.
