I found my way to the advanced but the entries don’t make sense, nor do they apply. I tried restricting the dates to search and no that didn’t work out. I got posts from 2004! And totally obscure posts that had nothing to do with the topic of the thread I am trying to find. And if you cannot remember the exact wording of a thread … well good luck with that!
What was the thread you were looking for? Maybe someone can help you locate it.

When changing pages to some ongoing thread, once yesterday, once this morning, I got a whole page of searches of old threads?
Puzzling.
I find search to be exactly like search before. Overall adequate. If I really can’t find something, I use Google to do a site search.
I am going to add to what Simkie posted. The problem in the OP was something that happened to me frequently before. I always just blamed it on my lack of searching skills. (It is a well known fact that Google hates me so why not search on the forum too.)
