Please guess what size/brand hunt coat for me?

Please guess what size/brand hunt coat for me? Yes, I know - go try them on . . . But, I’m still asking for a preliminary guess. And I know all the brands run different but if you are up for it please try some sort of answer.

I’m a 50 year old female. The hunter/jumper coat that fits me best is a (please don’t snicker) size 16, fuller fillies (that is their smallest size, I’m not really big, just sort of middle aged). I do like that brand because it has more room in the shoulders and arms and you can just move well in it. I’ve got tears and arthritis in one shoulder and can’t tolerate snug fits. I’ve got a bit of a broad shoulder, 5’6" tall.

Thanks so very much.

I have found that RJ Classics seem roomier than most other brands and run more true to size. I have a light weight that has a little stretch to it and is very comfortable. Here’s their size chart guide. http://rjclassics.com/sizechart.phtml

Thanks so very much, SaC.

No snickering here! Everyone wears a larger size in a hunt coat than they do in “normal” clothes…it’s both the sizing and the fact that we want room to move when we ride.
For comparison’s sake, I have an Ariat show style coat in a 14 that fits me beautifully. My hunt coat is an Ovation (from Horseloverz.com) and I ended up with a 12 long to accommodate my long arms. In retrospect, the 12 is probably too big, but I don’t like feeling restricted. The Ovation is a straighter, more boxy cut than the Ariat coat.
I’m 5’5", about 135, and not terribly broad shouldered.
Hope that helps.

Thanks so much, Hind.

RJ Classics. Sounds like my build is pretty similar to OPs. Their 16 seems like a “real” 16.

Also, don’t be afraid to try (consignment? eBay?) men’s 38 or 40 or 42ish sizes. I sometimes find the shoulder/chest room there, and the waist can be nipped in…
