Thanks! No, sheep are really grazers and not browser’s like goats who think everything must be tasted. We’ve had goats and while they’re hilarious, they are very destructive and really do chew/taste everything including leather reins, the barn siding, and will strip your trees standing around waiting for you to show up and feed them again despite being fat as ticks and there being plenty of browse in their enclosure.
I really do like goats, but at other people’s properties. We have trees in all of our lots and I prefer to keep my shade trees. That, and whenever we’ve let them out, the first thing they run to go strip is all the landscaping. Not so with the sheep. They’re happy with grass or they want you to hand out some feed, but are not bothering the forsythia, hydrangea or the knockout roses at the barn.
