Most of us, dare I say all of us, have experienced either Big T Trauma or litttle T trauma. Many of us have acquired horses that have experienced in some cases horrible trauma. I found this podcast absolutely fascinating and have listened to it again at least 3 times.
Also HIGHLY recommend the Best Horse Practices podcast in general. Their topics are all so thought provoking and valuable.
As I travel to and from work am finding listening to podcasts to make the time so well spent. Curious to have you all listen to this one and give your thoughts.
My thoughts are that the topic gives me compassion for my mare who came to me having had terrible things done to her. I know she will always have a switch flipped when certain noises happen and situations but she has come to trust me and has become SO willing and tries to do the right thing.
For me personally, coming from a family of high trauma and experiencing some things early-on that I’m grateful for therapy and learning to take care of myself and live a mostly very fulfilling life thanks to the passion of horses and caring for animals.
Enjoy ya’ll!
