Podcasts?

I have been listening to the PH podcast and it is really good, but only comes out every 2 weeks. Any other good horse/training/hj/eventing podcasts out there?

I tried plaidcast but honestly found it a bit annoying and not much helpful information (unless someone can point me towards the right episodes). Not really interested in “current events” ones. More bio/training/advice from the pros…

I listen to quite a few on the Horse Radio Network channel. They have an OTTB podcast that I like, along with my favorite, Heels Down Happy Hour. They also have daily podcasts which can be hit or miss depending on their content and your interests.

What’s the PH podcast? Nothing is coming up for me when I search that.

I’m with you, I like the ones that are more educational as opposed to ones that sound like a gaggle of giggly people standing around the tack room talking about nothing. I can’t do it.

The ones I find myself listening to the most.are Major League Eventing, Eventing Radio Show, the USEA podcast, and The Horse podcast. The Horse Radio Network one has some good ones, its a little more hit or miss for me.

I listen to: The Horse First: A Veterinary Sport Horse Podcast
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-horse-first-a-veterinary-sport-horse-podcast/id1435735981

This Veterinarian (Audrey DeClue) describes all the things we are feeling as a rider and what is causing our problems. She is definitely challenging her veterinary profession to be better by not waiting for them to catch up to her while helping those of us searching for the answers to the lameness issues we are having with our horses! Amazing podcast…all should listen that ride.

Listen and you will find many answers to why your horse is lame and where he/she is lame. You can then tell your Veterinarian where to look to solve the problems you are having!

Huh, I wasn’t aware there were any good horsey podcasts. Thanks, all. I will look forward to listening to some.

I’m an avid listener of the Horses in the Morning podcast, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I co-host the monthly foxhunting episode on that podcast the third Thursday of every month. The other regular monthly episodes you might like are the Pro Equine Grooms episode which is the 4th Thursday and the Jumping episode on the first Tuesday (but this one may be on hiatus as the host has been unwell).

I also really like Stall and Stable, which is about owning your own barn. More in having your horses at home rather than running a training barn. Turnout is good if you are at all into OTTBs, the host writes the Yankee in Paris blog. There is another called A Time for Horses that are historical stories about horses. The episodes are good, but she’s not put anything new out in over a year. The Sergeant Reckless episodes were SO GOOD. I enjoy the Practical Horseman and Heels Down Happy Hour podcasts, too.

I didn’t love Amateur Hour after listening to a few episodes. Granted the hosts don’t present themselves as professionals, but they talk about things that they really don’t know much about and I found it to be frustrating.

I think Amateur Hour is Remarkable! Pun intended.

Amateur Hour is my favorite! The girls are super sweet and I literally LOL when listening to each episode.

I want to listen to the PH one as I honestly didn’t even know it existed! This is a timely thread.

Equiratings is generally good. Also enjoying the Turnout Podcast thus far. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/turnout-the-podcast-for-horse-people/id1460798266?ign-mpt=uo%3D4

Thanks everyone! I will check some of these out. Hoping it will help the commute will go by faster
