I’ve found two… one is a CWD, and the other a biothane. I’d like something in the middle
Any recommendations for a breastplate that attaches at the girth instead of the D’s? I actually prefer the design of the Biothane one for my purpose.

Hum, I wouldn’t call the CDW a polo style - its the newfangled “three point” style.
Many “polo style” breastplates have a little keeper sewn in the front LIKE THIS and you simple run a standing or running martingale through the keeper (removing the neck strap because its not needed any longer).
I’ve got the CWD one- I was having trouble fitting the breastplates that attach to the D rings to my land barge of a horse. I dealt with a CWD rep (Ray) and he was great. It did come with a martingale attachment. I love the breastplate.
If the breastplate bit of britian sells doesn’t have the loop on the front, you can have any leather worker add one, then just use a strap from another running martingale sans the neck loop.
Hmmm. I have a nunn finer one with no loop, but I checked out a friend’s and it has one. I think adding the loop may be the way to go!
So two stupid questions:
If you need a breastplate, I wold go with a plain leather hunt style breastplate. If at all possible don’t use any breastplate
Problem is I do need a breastplate (mare is a challenging shape to fit - saddle fits beautifully in the correct place, but if it slides at all it starts to twist). We use the polo breastplate and an ecogold nonslip at the moment, but we’ve been eventing. It was also suggested we try a 5-PT breastplate with the more discreet neoprene pads instead of the big fluffy ones.
I’ve yet to find a traditional hunter breastplate that’s adjustable enough to be tightened to be useful without digging into the base of the horse’s neck. The CWD looks like it might split the difference… it’s just a smidge pricey for the handful of shows we do . I may have to ask Santa…
