We had a large gray mare named SOMETHING SPECIAL
that Nickie Hearn showed with alot of sucess. Nickie was the only rider to show her in our barn.
She was then sold to a customer of Trudy (Maxwell) Glefke in South Fla.

rockstarr?
I also rode at Schandwin when Helen and Catherine owned it. I started riding there in late 1992. I wasn’t there very long though. Who was your horse? I may remember you or your horse. I was only 8 years old when I was there and I had just started riding, but I would love to know your horses name, maybe I remember him.
Did anyone mention Liseter Fancy Dragon?
Liseter Flying Day was started by Sabra Warden (me). I caught a ride on him as a large green out in Ohio in 82 when he was owned by the Franciakisses (lol), and they sent him to us whereupon we had him remeasured and one of my mom’s client’s bought him as an investment. We went to indoors in 83. He was a legit Medium.
One For One was originally owned by Monica Calderone (one of mom’s students), and I taught her how to jump.
Anyone remember Millbrook’s Final Copy???
You have to be smarter than the horse, and since that will never happen, pretend you are.
If he is the person I am thinking of (since Chanda already caught me on one brain fart today) he judges some of our locals sometimes down here and we had a pony from him a few years back.
Oh- and leave it to zaboobafoo to be able to have the answer for all the ponies- you walking encyclopedia!
Yes, spoiledsweet is right – it is Polished Brass.
You have just won the equivalent of Pony Double Jeopardy.

Banana, your post just set off “I think i know you from a LONG time ago” bells, but I could be totally off! When I originally saw the post on Short Stack I was thinking of another pony. But after seeing your email address I think I’m putting your last name together with “short stack” and the 1989 date you gave and thinking, if you’re who I think you are, we were little pont brats together over ten years ago!
If you are from Massachusetts, rode with Holly Hill, are around the age of 21, and if Short Stack was a chestnut with a small white blaze (I think), then please email me!

anyone remember all of Allison Firestone’s ponies?
Playing for Keeps aka Archie was Veronica Hart Nibblig’s (sp?)
Heather Swann. Good one!
Picturesque,
I don’t believe Tommi rides at all anymore. I know Marti married and has at least one child and owns a tack store in Ocala with her husband. I’m not sure what Tommi is doing however.
Well Courtney McPhearson showed Lucky Me in her green year as a 4 year old… very evil with a spook of death in her!!!
Erica Pritz had Sandcastle.
This thread is bringing back SO many memories!

MKM, I haven’t seen Catherine in about six years. She was showing a bit in the adults, maybe with Jack Towell and dating Andrew Ellis.
I ran a lesson program for several years and Catherine came to be a once a week lesson kid. She showed up for her first lesson in shorts and sandals. And after I gave mom the ‘proper attire’ speech, too.

Does anyone know more about Magical Cloud? I knew he did well, but didn’t think he was really that well known. I was never a “big hunter rider” but it is how I got my start before I moved to eventing.
Catherine Winter had a grey named Magical Cloud that I rode for her a bunch at home when she was not wanting to ride, or having trouble with him, I and showed him some. Is this the same pony? I never would have thought that I rode a pony that the likes of Alison Firestone and Paige Johnson rode also, except possibly some of the Brownland ponies I rode, and that only b/c Brownland was down the street and I was the “tough kid” that they put on the greenies, buckers, etc.

The same pony you mention went on to win the pony finals under saddle with Catherine Winter and later was purchased by Allison Firestone. I know the pony won at WEF and indoors although I’m certainly now knowledgeable enough to give his whole resume. Great pony!
