They are on the 2nd round now. Just finished smalls which went first. Watching stream.
I definitely missed a chunk of the stream Now we are in the top 20. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I’m confused. I turned on what I thought was the live feed, and it turned out to be the last 15 or so of the first round. Which just finished now on my livestream. Was I somehow getting an older version of it? Where are they now in real time?
It’s all done - I came in at the tail end of the 1st round, then they had the top (?) 20 or 25, then they tested 3 for flatwork and that was that. All done!
Thanks. I’ll have to catch the replay once it’s up.
Spoiler alert!
I have a few questions about the pony medal from my pop-in-&-out watching yesterday.
Do smalls & mediums jump the same height in the medal? Or did I just happen to catch all mediums?
Do they use different back numbers for this class? I saw a couple ponies I wanted to look up names for, but when I look at the results, the numbers are completely different than what the kids were wearing.
Curiosity judging question: one kid came off the in & out yesterday and completely missed the turn to the last jump on the end of the ring, so she spiraled around back to it. Technically, she never crossed her tracks nor presented to the last jump from the in & out. Would that be a stop or just a very creative route? They did not excuse her and she already had another stop earlier. Thanks!
It would definitely still be a “stop,” but being excused is at the judge’s discretion, especially since her earlier stop was at a different jumping effort. Since she was on track to the fence and these kids come so far, it’s likely a courtesy to let her finish the course.
I kind of thought that would be the case, especially since by the time they would have excused her, she was already re-approaching it and it was the last fence. DH and I were just playing devil’s advocate with it. Thanks!
I noted a few times where they could have “thank you’d” them and just let it go because it was towards the end. Pony Finals is somewhat a different beast. All for the littles, so sometimes I think they just let it go and score it accordingly. Kid knows. Trainer knows. Judge knows. But no sense is crushing Minion Olympics dreams. They’re all stuck there for 3820483042 hours anyway. What’s another 15-25 seconds?
Smalls jump lower than Mediums so you likely just caught all of the mediums
The kids use separate back numbers for the Medal (red ones vs black). Sometimes a pony will be ridden by a different kid in the medal vs the hunters sections so it keeps things separate. This link has a list of all of the medal entries but just the kids, not their ponies.

If you’re curious of the pony’s name, you can cross-search the kid’s name here and look to see which pony they rode in the medal
Thanks! I think I’ve figured out which two I was looking for. I caught a stretch of absurdly adorable pairs yesterday and just had to know.
So did the back numbers in the pony medal correspond to their order of go in the class?
Yes
