So I heard from a creditable source that a Reality TV show has been pitched to one of the networks about the Drama at the Pony Ring… at the H/J shows.

I probably would out of morbid curiosity, but I think a show like that would be so bad for this sport.

Agreed on both points. I’d definitely watch, but it’s not going to be great PR for the sport…
It’s really no different than Little League Parents…
I haven’t heard if it is a go or not… but I do think it would be dramatic… lol
I would like to see another “road to” reality show. Could be “Road to Pony Finals, Junior Hunter Finals, Devon,” or any other big show or final. “Road to the Maclay’s” was classy and inspiring. If “Pony Moms” is modeled on “Dance Moms” it sounds bad.

You know, the world would be a better place if Good People got more air time. Why do programmers think we need to see stoopid drama? Certainly there is enough good drama in the world. Stop making it a contest of who can throw the biggest TV tantrum.

My mom has been saying there should be a “Pony Moms” reality show since I was in pig tails! I knew she should have pitched the idea.
But in all honesty…I would probably watch it. Trashy reality tv or not. It certainly wouldn’t lack drama! :lol:

i agree but we live in the world of Honey boo boo afterall. The show probably won’t go but I could just imagine the hate talk if it did from everyone involved watching or starring. I hope it doesn’t air to be truthful I just thought it was dummy that someone actually did pitch it. I am in Southern Calif. there are probably hundreds of these proposed every month.

I wish Animal Planet or something of the likes would pick up another “Road To” show. I LOVED Road to Maclay when I was a kid.
I would probably watch Pony Mom’s due to trash factor. I love me some trash TV. We’ve been posting threads about starting a Pony Mom’s or Horse Show Mom’s for a long time.
Who knows if it will go through though. We had some guy talk to us a bit about doing a dude ranch reality show and it never went through. I guess we weren’t dramatic and crazy enough!
Shoot they don’t even need to do Pony Moms, they can just do “UnMedicated AAs” and feature my barn.

Hey, it’s not just the pony moms. I’ve seen some pretty bizarre behavior from moms of the junior kids.
One of the Sports Kids Moms & Dads (I know that’s not the right title) on Bravo a long time ago had two girls that rode.
A fun “road to” might be following different pony club kids from different places in different disciplines (including fun stuff like polocross and tetrathalon as well as the more predictable stuff like dressage and eventing) as they quality for championships.
