Portable Corral

I am headed to a camp that does not offer stalls or paddocks, but you can bring your own portable corral or highline. Any portable corral recommendations? I did a search and the results that came back were 5-6 years old.

I just made my own- bought a small battery powered charger, a roll of fence tape, ground rod and step in posts. Ta da- temporary corral. BUT… I got one of those high-tie arms that install on the top of the trailer a couple of weeks ago and used it to camp with last weekend. OMG it’s awesome. So easy and takes literally 2 minutes to set up

I have the ones from http://www.affordableportableproducts.com/.
they were pretty easy to put together and are made from a more durable type of PVC, so I thought the cost was reasonable. I have only used them once, so I can’t comment on their actual durability, but they are lightweight and easy to set up.

I’ve had mine coming on 3 years now, 3 different horses.
I use t-posts at every panel junction, add water to weigh them down and set up off my trailer. I also keep snow/garden fencing around in case the horse gets really dead set on putting their head between panels and lifting - so far I have not had to use it.

I just bring step-in posts and run tape around. My charger uses 2 D batteries. I have this one-

You will need a grounding rod also.
I will say, I think your horse has to respect fencing to begin with, because it doesn’t pack a lot of “punch.”
But, my horse has never challenged a fence. A friend of mine uses a marine battery on her portable corral because her mare will run right through the little portable charger.
Would love to have a Hi-Tie. My horse will stand straight tied to a trailer overnite also, but I only do that in a pinch.

Is anyone coming with you or are you going alone? If you don’t want to buy anything expensive, could you find someone who has a spare to lend you?

Step in posts, a battery charger, and tap cost me $60?

I second the easy-care High Tie system. I tried the Carri-Lite corral which my horse took apart within less than an hour by putting his head down to eat grass below the bottom rail and then lifted his head, thuspicking up the whole very-light corral and collapsing it. Followed that with electric fence type corral which took me a lot of time to put up and take down, depending on what kind of soil you’re working with - in our region we alternate clay and sand depending on location. Finally got the High-Tie and once it’s installed on your trailer (any handy man or woman can do) it’s up and ready in about 2 minutes and the horse is perfectly comfortable.
