Portable Corrals

I am doing some trail riding in dry camping areas and was wondering what everybody recommends for a portable corral. Currently I have been looking at Noble Panels and Travel N Corrals. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I love my Carri-Lite. They are telescoping plastic (not pvc, something better) so much lighter than the the metal ones, fit in a small space for carrying. Expensive.

I have an 18’ X 18’ Travel N Corral. The pros are it’s light-weight, very sturdy and easy to put together. The cons (and it’s a big one for me) because of the way the panels connect together it has to be on flat/level ground. If there is any slope or dip in the ground the feet of the panels won’t go all the way down… This can give you a big gap between the bottom of the leg and the ground. NOT safe! I’ve been trying to come up with some type of light-weight riser to use under the feet.

Mine was given to me so I’m not out any money at least!

@Garythesquirrel Would those plastic bed risers work?

I have some of those and tried them but I need something that’s adjustable. The problem is the way the panels connect, there’s no flexibility at all and have to be completely level.

If your horse respects it, electric corrals can be a great option. A solar charger with poles and tape costs under $300 and can form to any type of terrain! The downside is if the horse is wearing a blanket, the zap won’t reach them. On the plus side, if there’s plenty of food in the corral most horses won’t test it

We had a local fabricator make metal but lightweight panels, about 5 feet wide, 2 rails, not sure how high but they hook together with pins. 5 make a nice size. If more than one person has a set, you can make different configurations if they can be next to each other.
