Thank you Alagirl and Bluey. I am totally floored. Guilherme is a he?
I did not know that.
I have met some people who have purchased from this seller and were very happy with the purchase. However, all opinions are appreciated. Thanks for the replies.[/QUOTE]
I’m a “he” but a very old one!!!
I do not speak Portuguese but I’ve got a pretty good dictionary and Google.
This is a mule or donkey saddle and they claim it is of good quality. The name must be a colloquialism because it’s called a “luxurious miner’s head” (and they are using the feminine of “miner” and I have no idea what that might mean).
There are also lots of specialized saddle and tack terms. I’m guessing at most of them but when I compare the terms to the picture I think I’ve got most of them.
The saddle comes with these:
01 PR LORO 38MM BUFALO Soleta TANNIN My guess is “stirrup leathers” made of bufalo hide."
01 PR FOOTPLATE STAINLESS STEEL Probably stirrups.
01 CJ girths and cinch WOOL WITH RING STAINLESS STEEL Clear.
01 CJ AGAINST whip BUCKLES WITH HEART FORMAT STAINLESS STEEL I don’t know.
01 PR whip Soleta BUFALO TANNIN Pair of “latigos” as might be used on a Western saddle?
01 PC HALTER Soleta BUFALO ARGOLADA Probably a headstall.
01 PC WOOL SPECIAL NETWORK Translates to “wool web” and that might be the red and white “lead line” at the back.
Comparing the picture to the translation says you’re getting whatever you see in the photo.
We bought a saddle when we visited Brazil. It was a lovely item that was made for MM horses and didn’t fit a one of ours. That’s because the tree was designed for Brazilian horses that don’t reach the same size as American horses. Sold it to an lady with a nice, petite Arabian who loved it! That’s just a word of caution.
Brazil produces a lot of good quality leather work. That’s not a surprise given the large scope of their cattle industry.
Hope I was able to help you out!
