Click “latest activity” at the top of the thread.
If you want to apply to everything, User settings > Account > Display Mode > Select “Latest Activity”
Note that you lose some things, like signatures, and post numbers.

My account always displays most recent posts in a thread, not sure what my settings are.
I’ve also ended up just going to Today’s Topics and then sometimes My Recent Posts if I am actively participating in something that isn’t turning up on Today’s Topics. I used to go through each sub forum but this works better as an overview I think.
