Most barns with what you describe will be located about 45 min northeast in the Goshen and Batavia areas.

Can you share a ball park budget? Can recommend a few and knowing your general price range will help. You will need an indoor but decent turn out generally not a problem. Also help to know about where you and your horse are at training wise.

In the meantime, go online to the Ohio H/J association website (spell it out or you get Oregon, Oklahoma or Ontario) for leads. The Goshen/Batavia area mentioned is about an hour south of WEC North and 2 hours north of the KHP, Mariemont is 90ish min. south of WEC and just one hour north of KHP so rated shows all the way up to FEI or very nice non rateds are easy to spectate and hanging out around the schooling rings remains an excellent way to select a barn and trainer.

Okay, thanks for the location and website rec! I’ll take a look.

Budget is flexible, but ideally would like to stay under 2-2.5k a month including training (but not showing of course) if possible. Right now we’re showing in the 2’ and some 2’6. Horse just started showing last year so definitely green in that department. I’ve been riding and showing for decades, but horse is relatively green and this is the first one I’ve gotten to bring along myself in a program.

Thank you so much for your help!

Your budget is refreshingly realistic for the SW Ohio/ Northern Ky area, Just need to check on a couple of options to be sure they are still operating and where, know at least one moved last year and one I typically recommend, sadly, suffered a terrible injury recently.

Will to update ideas tomorrow.

I’ve uploaded a Directory that might be of some help. There is a Cincinnati Area Equestrian Group on FB that might be some help as well. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Lots of good options on the east side, northeast side of Cincinnati to meet your needs and your budget. I live not far from Mariemont and board in Loveland which is about a 30 minute drive for me.

UPDATE with a name.

Aubrey Sears …Milestone Equestrian. Shes on instagram and FB. She has a really lovely group of adults and they have FUN. Its not a high pressure point factory, hard to explain, really comfortable and supportive place to enjoy your horse and enjoy the shows. Everybody is friendly! many of the pictures on the sites capture that.

Definitely start there.

Unfortunately, the others I generally recommend are unavailable. Maybe somebody else can offer suggestions.

WEC/Wilmington is 18 miles north of Goshen/Milford area. Mariemont is 20 mins to Goshen?Milford area. Aubrey Sears or Laurie Story are in that general area.

Drive times depend on time of day and traffic. Was in the Loveland area and it was about 45 minutes to WEC straight up 22/3. About 20 minutes in the opposite direction Loveland to Goshen via 48. Had a friend in Mariemount and it was usually about 25-30 minutes from Loveland depending on time of day and the traffic lights.
