Posts getting mixed up--Mods??

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but is anyone else having problems with posts getting put in out of order? I noticed it first with the Marestare thread but I just posted on another thread and it put my post in as the original and moved the first post down. What’s going on??

I’ve had my computer double post, but maybe you are just ‘the chosen one’

Sorry, seriously dont have any idea about your ‘real’ question

This happens when you are responding to a thread. The last post someone submits appears as the first post under “Topic Review” but once you submit your post the original poster’s thread reappears with the comments from other people beneath it. Does that make sense?

Check your settings. You can set it so new posts appear on top (I have it set that way) or on the bottom.

It’s not in topic review. It’s in the actual thread. Like in this one: Two COTH members Grand Prix jumping thread. I was not the OP in this thread, but my post got put as the first one.

Could it be possible that your post timestamp is taken from your computer clock rather than an internal BB clock? Therefore moving it up?

Testing theory

Nope I guess not

I don’t think so. Go take a look at the original Marestare thread. Around page 10, you’ll see posts from right before she foaled and posts interspersed through talking about the colt. That’s when I first noticed it and it wasn’t just me it was happening to. I figured then that it was just b/c so many of us were trying to post at the same time, but the thread that I referenced above wasn’t busy, it just did it for no reason. Hopefully the mods will take a look at this and let us know.

BUMP! It did it again on the Jingles for the $700 Pony thread. I even changed the time on the CP a couple times and tried it, and it still was doing it.
Edited to say that it also just did it on this thread in the dressage forum: http://chronicleforums.com/Forum/showthread.php?p=1920309&posted=1#post1920309

Yes this is happening to me.

Also when I post in a thread it is NOT moving to the top of the forum… I posted a new thread on Off Course and some people replied so I replied back and now the thread isn’t showing up on Off Course for me AT ALL but if I go to the main forum page and it’s the most recently updated thread I can link to it through there. And when I do open it, other people’s replies to me are above my original post…

I think I just figured this out. In the I LOFF my horse thread, the BB tagged War Admiral’s post as 10 PM rather than 10 AM. So then, when I posted at 2 pm, it put my post above her’s, even though it was actually several hours after hers. Could this be a glitch in the BB?

Well, I just posted on hoser1’s spade-shaped feet thread, and not only did my post end up at the top, but I got credit for starting the thread!

I think the Chronicle’s date stamp was messed up, if you look at some of the posts, it says Oct 11. Today is the 10th.

Yep, definitely something to do with the date/timestamp. It just happened to me here. The post directly below mine was the original post, and the one below that was the only other post in the thread when I posted. Now my post is above those two, and a couple of other posts are above mine.

I noticed a week or so ago that all the times were about an hour off, and checked that my time settings on the forum were correct (they were - GMT -5 hours). I thought maybe it had something to do with the fact that not everyone in the world switches off DST at the same time, but now I wonder if it was the beginning of some other sort of problem

We’ll see what time it says I posted this - by my watch, it’s 2:33 pm EDT, October 10.

This is bizarre. On a thread in the Dressage forum, my post appears as #1, and I wasn’t even the thread starter. All I did is reply. Posts are mixed up all over the place.

I am so confused.

ok, I’m not nuts. I even changed my options around for my time/date stamp and my order of new posts. Didn’t help.

My posts are now jumping halfways up the thread and the threads are all out of sequence.

Same here - a thread I started like an hour ago is down on page two below LOCKED posts that were there BEFORE I posted it.
