Potential foal colors? Lp+sabino white?

Hi all! I’m wondering what the potential foal colors would be for a Lp (leopard sire) and max white sabino dam. Thoughts?

Too much more info needed.

The stallion would be Lplp PATN1/patn if he’s leopard so that’s 50/50 for him to pass Lp on, and 50/50 passing PATN1 on.

Lp without any PATN is just characteristic - striped feet, white sclera, mottle nose/eyes/genitals.
PATN1 without any Lp is non-characteristic.

That means

  • 50% chance non-characteristic (no Lp and no PATN1)
  • 25% characteristic (just Lp)
  • 25% leopard (both Lp and PATN1)

“max white” is often mis-used. Many “max white sabino” horses are actually a White gene, not Sabino. What breed is the dam? Some breeds are known to not carry SB1.

But if it’s a breed with SB1, and she’s really SB1SB1 (which is the max white Sabino) then SB1 gets passed on. How that manifests is very lottery-like, but most likely just normal white marks. The white marks would be in addition to whatever, if any, Appy traits are passed

None of the information tells us anything about their colors though. It’s all white pattern information.
