PPE Vets in Aiken?

I’m going to look at a horse next week, and not being from the area, have no clue who the vets are in Aiken…

In case the horse works out for me, any suggestions for good PPE vets? Or, ones to avoid?

TIA!

Dr Carter, if you can get him. I really respect his eye for lameness and understanding of the horse’s biomechanics. Wonderful, wonderful vet who is very knowledgeable and compassionate. A friend of mine worked very closely with him during an absolutely heartbreaking neurological case and he went above and beyond helping her make what was ultimately a very sad but compassionate decision.

Dr Brett Gaby is there during parts of the spring season and is also a wonderful vet but I believe right now he is back in MA.

Absolutely recommend Dr. Carter. He is so thorough and nice. He even called Auburn for me when I told them my necropsy report still hadn’t been sent on my beloved Chase several months prior. His facility can do it all-a one stop shop for a great ppe. Hope you can get him. Just a great vet and staff!

Thanks for the recommendations. I hope the seller doesn’t already use him! Need some alternatives if she does.

I used Mitch Byrd when he was in Southern Pines, and miss him greatly now that he is in Aiken. He is intuitive about lameness – especially the NQR kind.
