PPID gelding with sudden human aggression

Has anyone had experience with a PPID gelding displaying unusual aggressive behavior toward humans? He’s always been sort of a grumpy Gus, but came at me with pinned ears, snake neck and intent when I tried to halter him. I’ve researched and found “can be caused by testosterone which geldings with a pituitary tumor can have increased levels of.” Vet visit scheduled but curious in the meantime. Thank you!

A little scary, and perhaps out of context…but has this horse been vaccinated for rabies?

If a horse suddenly becomes very aggressive it can be a brain tumour.

All I can add is Jingles! This sounds so scary for you and the horse.

Hope the vet can get things figured out.

Is he on Prascend? Has the dosage changed?

He’s gray with melanomas so something internal perhaps? He will get a full work up and will take it from there. Thank you everyone!
