attacking the poster is one thing but going after their children is not acceptable to me but evidently is for the owners of the board. End of discussion.
You can share the joy of your kids here and in off topic.
He looks sharp there!..
Waiting on that awesome set of show pictures.
Congratulations on the wedding and new addition to your wonderful family.
Never mind the CE fiefdom and those ruling there.
Is just how they communicate, wielding rough verbal bats.
Congrats! He’s turning into a very handsome boy.

Such a joy to read this thread. Congratulations to your daughter, the whole family, and the breeders of your boy. I also remember the saga of bringing him home through the tremendous snows. We are loving this!
Yay!!! So happy to read this post! Ignore CE and just post about the kids and this gorgeous fellow. Love following his success and your family’s stories.
Shame on you for posting that website filled with Morgan’s. Now I really want one.
Congratulations to your daughter and her horse in OKC, fantastic outcome!!
Congratulations from someone who recently re-joined the Morgan owning enthusiasts. Your daughter’s Morgan is turning into a very attractive and handsome individual.
I LOVE THESE PICTURES. What a testament to the breed. How is this not such feel good COTH story on the front page and now with the Championship title coming out of your backyard?
PM’ed you
Adding my congratulations to Socks (he’s spectacular), your daughter, Sock’s breeders, and of course to you and your wife for raising such solid citizen children! âï¸
Congratulations Clanter, it sounds like a huge win although I know nothing of Morgans. It sounds as though everyone here is familiar with Socks and your family, sorry to say I was unaware of them until now. I will have to start paying better attention!
Aimee corrected me, this was not her first Morgan National Championship, she won her First with our Foxie horse…Shamrock Foxie Joy… Aimee took her to a Western Mare In-Hand National Championship as a kid.
Foxie was shown so much I really did not remember Aimee winning that class but she has the metals and stuff that goes with that championship.
I do not even have a photo anywhere of that presentation or of the class
So here was Foxie and Aimee In-Hand… the lower part of the photo is of one of her students tens years after the top photo who was loaned Foxie to be shown

Aimee and Foxie after winning a western pleasure class and yes you could pass a 12 inch ruler between her legs… Foxie was one sturdily built horse that was often mistaken as a King Ranch Quarterhorse

Congratulations!
Congratulations!! What a huge accomplishment!!
I know nothing of the morgan world, do they do straight dressage or is it something different?
They actually are used in all disciplines. The Sport Horse division that Socks was in this year would lead to Dressage and Eventing. There was a full range of Dressage at Nationals. Her trainer is one of the top Western Dressage trainers for Morgans. Eventing is not held at Nationals but the horses compete in open competitions.
Socks was judged by a Dressage judge in his class.
Daughter’s prior horse loved the challenge of a cross country course. He could actually clear jump a five foot fence, that is how we found out he like to jump as I would find him in a paddock wit another horse thinking daughter had put him there and she thought I had then we saw him clear the paddock fence to get in.

Looks like he was fun to jump.
she set up a chute to send him down to see if he would clear this improvised jump set at 5ft 6 inches

This was the same horse that jumped on top of the concrete picnic table… she wanted him to look closely at it, he thought she want him to jump up there… they wee coming back from the stadium jumping of a three day when she saw this picnic table that had been built by the WPA back int he 1930s. Top of the table was 42 inches above grade. She was on him when they approached the table, he stopped short, she cues him forward… he takes that as oh jump up there. I was watching, I never saw him move…he was on the ground in front of the table next thing there they were on top of the table…looked just like a military statue of some famous general on his horse.
Next was the panic … What did he DO was all daughter could say…followed by How Do we Get Down?? …all I could think was that table is going to crumble with that 1150 pound horse up there… suggested to daughter that she let him have his head. loosen reins then ask him to step forward… he looks down at the attached bench thinking about stepping onto that but just went straight to the ground like the whole episode was no big deal
I went back to measure that table… 3 feet 6 inches ground to top …and the table is still there.
Great results! He’s a handsome fellow. I missed being there this year, but since it was officially “no spectators” this year and I just started a new job, it wasn’t going to happen. I’ve been 3 times and there is nothing else like it.
My friend Liz had two of her homebreds there – Sutton Remembrance GCH, who cleaned up in Carriage as usual, and Sutton Terra Cotta who won two Training Level dressage classes, though he’s only 4 and has some growing up to do. Liz has two more babies from his dam, a level-headed bay yearling gelding and this year’s black filly, who is a firecracker like her mama.
