Last night our friend Jason was kicked in the face by his horse after a fall. Please can you say an extra prayer for him.
Looks like this will be a long haul.
Fortunately most of the news is good, but it will take a very long time for recovery.
The stable has rallied 'round in support, and it always warms my heart when I see how horse people are just like the equine Red Cross at times like this.
coreene - positive thoughts and prayers being said for him and all riders
That is the absolutely nicest thing about horse people. Even those you don’t get along with all that well will rally around when someone or their horse is injured.
I’m glad the outlook for Jason is good. He will need all the support he can get over this period of time. How wonderful that he will get it!
Oh no, that’s just so horrible!
I’m so very sorry. You know my curb chain is jingling, my prayers are being said, and good thoughts are coming his way!

Thank goodness he is going to pull through. It will be difficult, but he’ll recover with the help of his good friends, human and animal.
(I tried to respond yesterday, but for some reason the thread was blank. I’m glad to see it back today.)

Coreene, I’m so sorry to hear that! I hope he recovers quickly. My thoughts are with him.
It is truely the greatest thing when hearts and minds together send messages of love and caring.
We can all say our prayers so that the injuries keep on becoming less and less severe. Miracles do still happen and sometimes the worst events bring benefits we never expected.
My heartful best thoughts and prayers that this is one of those unique situations.
I certainly will! Please keep us informed…
Prayers being said here too.

Even tho it will be a long slow road to recovery, it sounds as tho he will have plenty of help. You are a good friend to him.

Me, too, coreene, he’s in my prayers.
Here too.
My and my families’ thoughts are with him. My daughter (now 16) suffered from a high-speed kick to the face. Tell him to hang in there.

~Insanity is repeating the same behavior over and over and expecting different results~
especially since while I was at a clinic yesterday, we learned that a longtime dressage trainer, orig. from GA, had been killed in a pasture accident (bitten and kicked trying to bring in a horse that was turned out with some others.) A real reminder of how careful we really should be even with horses that we know well.
Keep us updated, please!
