Praziquantel for cats; deworming question

There has to be an easier solution than pills; I was shocked when I opened the container and saw how large they were. No way could I get those down kitty’s throat!

I came across a powdered form of Praz, for fish. Has anybody used this? Is there anything else that’s safe and effective?

Would love it if someone would come up with paste or gel!! Like we use for horses! I would just use a praz for horses except they all have Ivermectin in them and I’m not sure how safe that is.

Thanks!!

There’s an injectable form

You need profender! It’s topical

Tape worm tabs are pretty easy, though, if you grind up and mix into stinky wet food.

Which is what I did. And not a single one of those picky beasts will eat it.

Profender…it works? I will look it up!

Okay…how about something that does not require RX?

Liver sausage aka braunschweiger is a good ‘carrier’ of crushed up pills for mine.
Grocery store…

Or you can try quartering them and butter heavily to shove them down the throat.

Profender definitely works, but yeah, you do need a script for it. Call up your vet!

I Give my barn kitty Cestex every month with her Revolution- it’s a teeny tiny pill

Another RX.

Wonder if my horse vet will write the script.

I have a small animal vet, but I can’t see them writing RX for me when they only see me once a year or less, for rabies.

Any vet will need a current relationship with the patient, which means having seen the animal in the last year.

Horsenut, you read for tapes monthly? Wow! Why so frequent? All of my vets have advised twice yearly for outside kitties
