Did our daycare search tomorrow. Found a place we really liked, wait list is 6-9 months which is about right for our timing.
I feel like someone took my head and swapped it out for a pumpkin. I’ll see myself in the mirror in a store and be like whose that standing…oh awkward.
Sitting here working on a list of “rules” for watching the baby so we can talk with MIL this weekend about her babysitting…realized after talking to my little brother and SIL (who just had their adorable perfect lil boy last week!) that if MIL isn’t going to be able to handle babysitting then we have to get started on the daycare hunt ASAP!
Maternity leave the US is a joke, the FMLA is really a joke…there’s so many ways an employer can get around it if they really want to. I’ll get the little amount of PTO I have left for this year, the rest will be unpaid. Aiming to take around 6 weeks off, what is everyone else doing?

I like that! I’m craving margaritas like crazy the whole time so I order virgin ones (which have the double benefit of satisfying my craving and getting to watch the reactions of people around us to pregnant woman with “alcohol”). From now I think I’ll call them my near-ritas!

I’m being throw a baby shower at the farm where I keep my mare. Baby shower with ponies! Pretty awesome, I know. :winkgrin:
The two gals throwing my shower are horse girls. So, what is something fun I can get them as thank you gifts? I was thinking about getting them silver horse shoe picture frames, but I’m not sold on the idea.
Thoughts? Other ideas?

So this post is timely! I just joined this “club” last week–right after bringing a new horse home. Barn mates don’t even know yet but my trainer doubles as my hubby, so that worked out nicely. Just brought a new guy home last week. Thankfully, he’s super safe and responsible, although still green. Looking forward to reading this thread and having a place to come for questions!

My shower is Saturday. The family descends today and tomorrow. Thank god I took Monday off…and have the horses as my excuse to escape
I got my hostesses each a monogrammed umbrella for “showering” me. And a dozen fancy cookies that my friend makes in the shape of whales.

I actually laughed out loud at the last scene when Shorty got low… and then couldn’t get back up. :lol: That’s pretty much my life right now.
As an side, she looks ridiculously good to be 8 months pregnant. I’ve officially reached cow-dom. And we aren’t doing a maternity shoot. I’m not sure I want artsy photographic memories what I look like right now. :winkgrin:

I think her belly is fake, but still so so so funny. At least that is what I’m telling myself.
