Premier Equine (or other affordable) Tall Boots -- Quality + Last?

Well, I have obtained a blessing in disguise. Now living in the southwest for the last several years I have sweat my tits off – and evidently my calves, too, because my tall boots have a solid inch of gaping in the calf. And as someone who has finally figured out her leg position, it couldn’t come at a worse time!

So now I’m on the market for a new pair of tall boots that I can wear in the hunter arena. I’ve had my eye on some field boots (and probably will snag a pair of brown boots for schooling, too) on Premier Equine but only know a few people who have purchased. I’d love to know if anyone’s pulled the trigger on a pair of their field boots and if so, how they’ve held up?

Most of the threads on COTH are at least a year old, so I’m not sure if the quality has changed or not, but the price seems reasonable and I’d love to get a handful of years out of 'em!

Otherwise, super open to affordable boots that can take a beating! If all else fails I’ll crawl my way back to my Ariats!

I’ve never heard of PE, but now I’m intrigued because it looks like their standard height is shorter than most! The calf is a touch big, but for schooling boots I’m not too picky about that.

For what it’s worth, I ordered Mountain Horse boots from the Drillshed in UK, they arrived super quick and overall I’m happy with them - a year later they seem to be holding up well. Though compared to Ariat the foot is definitely not as comfortable for me, and again the calf is a bit big.

I’m obsessed with the MH Sovereign boots but have not hit purchase (even after the excessive amount of drooling I’ve done). My calf width to height ratio seems to be unordinary (which I think is to say that I do not have the calves of an etherial fairy ballerina but do have long legs, alas) so I am becoming… intimately… familiar with size charts

But PE seems like a strong brand! I mean they’re no custom boots buy those I know who have them have said good things?!

I bought a pair of Brogini boots from Derby House to use as daily schoolers. I got them in Dec for a screaming deal - $175 for real leather tall boots. I’ve been really really happy with them and they came super fast.

I know nothing about Premier Equine’s boots, but their blankets and other horse stuff is very high quality.

Keep us updated about the boots if you do ultimately buy them!

I have a pair of PE tall boots. I bought a pair of “seconds” that were super cheap. Overall, happy with the quality for the $$. They are durable so far but did require more break in than the mountain horse ones.

Which pair did you get and how was the sizing?

I purchased this exact pair. I did my own measurements at home and was super pleased with the sizing. One caveat is that I seem to be a very standard off-the-rack size. My calves measure a full, not a regular or a wide, but other than that I am pretty average. The boots fit very well and I was very pleased with them, especially for the price. And the shipping! I think they arrived from Europe in under a week.
