Pressure/heat bumps under saddle. Grooming hacks?

Hello all,
one of my client’s horse’s has sprouted a little colony of what appeared to be pressure bumps under the saddle.
I have never found a spectacular way to deal with these, so I am soliciting ideas from you all!

Saddle has not changed and has been checked by a qualified fitter.
I suspect due to time of year that these are irritated little new hairs starting to come in.

There is a possible implication of Melaleuca detergent used on the saddle pad, but it was used a month ago. Possibly the horse had a good sweat and sucked some into his skin after several uses?

Currently I intend to use a mattes pad between saddle pad and Saddle.

Horse is a liver chestnut with a known history of easily irritated skin. Please give me some ideas!
Vet is coming tomorrow.

I had this happen as well, injected it with something to help it shrink, but it eventually just disappeared over time. Saddle was a good fit, thinking it was just because of an ingrown hair or something.

I switched to using a fleece pad and the bumps went away and then I could go back to a regular pad. Any time I thought a bump was reappearing, I used the fleece pad until the danger was over.

I use goldbond under the saddle. A little shake shake on each side where the panels will sit. That has helped keep this at bay, maybe because it stays a little dryer?
