Prestige No Pressure (Donut) Girth?

Has anyone tried one yet? It’s getting on time to replace my girth and I’m looking at options from basic to way out there. I mean, why not, I don’t buy girths too often, so I might as well explore all options.

Horse does not have a wildly forward girth groove, but is absolutely opposed to an old style (normal width) girth and likes it quite wide on the sternum, tyvm. I’m totally opposed to girths that gape and flap in the breeze.

I just sold mine because it was too big for my new horse.

My old horse was like the princess and the pea when it comes to girths, and this was the one that bothered him the least. It’s not a magic bullet, and I can’t say it’s worth the ridiculous price, but it does what it claims to do. If your horse doesn’t care for the typical straight or anatomical girths, the donut is worth a try.

I like mine and have used it on 4 different horses. It does a good job as a stability girth. I have had it since the end of 2016, so the expensive price has averaged out a bit now.

Thanks. I’m considering doing a trial on it. Maybe. If I can be arsed to do a trial and not just try to find a new version of what she’s currently wearing.

I have always wondered if the size could make horses a bit humpy?

I’ve only ridden with it once so far and maybe. It was a pain in the ass to get the doughnut centred properly. And, yes, Madam definitely felt it was different and let me know by being a bit scooty at first. So, I think it’s not a match as no other girth has ever made her scoot. But, being as I have it, I will ride in it once or twice more to double check that it wasn’t just the initial eek of something bigger on her belly. This is very possible since she has a note on her stall door forbidding staff and friends from adjusting blankets. She is VERY ticklish on her undercarriage and very quick to accidentally react first and remember humans are breakable immediately after the reaction :o

Other than being a pain in the ass to centre, I did like a the length of pressure distribution, and that width wise there was that nice gap of pressure directly behind the elbow.

The Princess has spoken. It’s going back. She is not in love with it at all. Thank goodness for trials on expensive bits of equipment.
