Prestige Roma, Jumper R, and Michel Robert

So after about 2 weeks of searching and researching saddle brands within my budget (I’m going insane!), I have finally landed on Prestige (yay!). There are three in my price range, but I can’t seem to find anything about what is different between these models. One is a barely used Prestige Jumper R ($1,200), another is a Prestige Roma ($1,300) in demo condition (includes leathers, irons, and cover), and the last is a good condition Prestige X Michel Robert ($1,600) (long flap, even though I use a standard).

What I was wondering, is there any difference between them on the seat depth, quality, and how they ride? Which one would be the better deal to get?

The Roma is Prestige’s entry-level saddle. All cowhide, well-made, front and rear blocks, medium deep seat. I have one and love it for the arena and hunter paces/trail rides. Synthetic flocking and great clearance for the withers. It has the widest seat of the three you mention.

The Jumper R is usually done with latex panels, so not as much clearance. Calfskin leather, so grippier and more fragile.

The X refers to cutouts (below the seat leather) that are filled with latex to cushion your seat bone, but the Michel Robert has the narrowest seat of the three. Usually also latex panels on this one. Calfskin. The long flap will be 1" longer from the stirrup bar than the standard, and this is also the most forward-cut of the three flaps.

Except for the greater wither clearance on the Roma, all will be a similar fit for the horse (if they’re the same tree size).

I’m a big fan of Prestige, in general. Excellent workmanship and materials, and I like that the composite trees can be machine adjusted (up or down 2 sizes from the original throughout the life of the saddle).
