Anyone have any experience with this model?
I am trying to find a deep seat cc/ap type saddle for a spicy horse that needs to feel my legs on her (and my dressage saddle isn’t cutting it, both in that area, and its overall fit).
She is short-backed, somewhat broad. Prestige has been suggested a few times and while searching I came across the Roma VSD - their all purpose type saddle.
Any thoughts? One of my biggest needs is grippy and has a deep seat so I can hang on during spooky season.
I will attach a photo of my mare once I figure out how!
My post history suggests that I’m not the best person to answer this (I’m currently going through the saddle rigamarole), but I do want to add some perspective that might allow you to open your options.
I’ve never felt more secure than when I am in my flat seat Butet. I think it truly depends on where the center/balance point is in the saddle. I feel like I can sit deep and give stronger/more clear seat cues because of where my buttocks and pelvis make contact with the saddle. I wouldn’t limit your search to “deep seat” (unless someone else has better advice!)
