prestige trapezium pad

Hi…Has anybody had any luck having one of these things work under a D1 type saddle?

Mine still nosedives with it…I ended up using a couple of thinline shims instead.

Am just wondering if I’m missing something obvious, as I want to start using the saddle on a different horse that SHOULD use a narrower tree.

Theoretically these pads should accommodate that?

i realize this is an older thread, but i just recently purchased a D1K and happened to find a trapezium pad at our local resale shop. i was under the impression the pad helped to balance the saddle out statically (so while the horse is standing still - idk if i got the term right) but still allows the shoulders freedom of movement when the horse is working with the cutaway panels of the saddle. perhaps i’m misunderstanding it.

Really old post but the trap pad needs to be set back. It does not go on the shoulders. It goes in the “hole” behind to both stabilize and relieve all shoulder pressure. If you do this and your saddle still “nosedives”, your saddle tree points are too wide.

I am guessing the reason the saddle was tipping down is the tree points are too short or the panel was not supported enough in front. Normally a narrower horse has higher withers which needs longer tree points and more supportive panel.

Beware?!

Reported.
