I used both Pretty Litter and other silica gel litters. They are all incredibly dusty, and need to be replaced far more often than what’s marketed. I had 1 cat, and had at least 2 boxes available all the time for her. I had to empty, wash and replace both after a week, sometimes less. My cat had no health issues and was super clean as well.
When I am ready for another cat (I lost my Jenny, my home, in a fire less than 2 years ago), I will not be using silica gel litters. I’ve heard great things about pine pellet litter (which I’ve used for my horses). It’s much cheaper ($7.41 after tax, for 40lbs at Tractor supply), it’s readily available, and it’s much more environmentally friendly. Pine pellet bedding is common for horses with RAO/Heaves. Coming from someone who has had a horse with severe RAO, pine pellets aren’t dusty when managed properly. If you’re not cleaning often enough, and replacing spent pellets enough, then it gets dusty.
