Price for roughout training saddle?

When I find a different saddle for Sydney I am thinking that I will sell my roughout training saddle. I plan to take it to the local saddle repair guy to have it cleaned and roughed back up. I am trying to figure out what the going rate of quality training saddles is? It is a Silver Mesa, 16.5 inch seat, FQHBs. Doing an eBay search is not helping me on this one!

I do feel like the lighting makes the stains look worse than they are…

Use a wire brush on the rough-out parts and clean the smooth parts yourself. Easy peasy. The wire brush will make the rough-out look like new.

To answer your question about value - join some western tack facebook groups and do a search to see what other Silver Mesa saddles are priced.

I am not sure how far below a “pretty” Silver Mesa I should price it though… A plain jane reiner went on eBay for $1500, so I would imagine at least below that. A used Silver Mesa show saddle starts at $2,000 and goes on up. Average seems to be closer to $3,000.

The only reason I am considering going to him is because a friend took a roughout saddle to him, and he magically made much of the staining disapear. I was thinking it would be worth the investment to remove the stains, but maybe not?
