The Daily Beast has it behind a paywall which is where the Express got it from… None of the racing press will carry it and it is unlikely that the Times or the Post will pick it up unless she is hurt or kidnapped but I’ve been watching anyway.
She is his “third wife” and he used her shamelessly, working behind the scenes using money and more money styled as “influence” to get her elected in the FEI- all to try and further his own ambitions, specifically in regards to Endurance. His goal was to have the FEI try to thwart or suppress or otherwise stall judgement on his and his country’s reckless endangerment of horses in that sport. The guy is scum. I always felt she knew she was being used, but couldn’t do anything about it. Money talks and money can be used to kill. Easily. And without fear of retribution. The AERC is well rid of the joke that the FEI has become, and a pox on anyone that sells their Endurance horse or horses to this scumbag.
She must feel desperate, knowing a price would probably be on her head if she fled. Hope she makes it through this okay.
