The 2’ USHJA and 2’ Future Hunters are in fact your best option. You could just do the flat classes for those. Or you could enter a trip, because those are on pro days and there will be times with less chaos in the warmup. Also, depending on which ring those are in, the warmup areas can be pretty big. Frankly the ticketed rings could have more chaos than the warmup and course for those 2’ classes, depending on the timing! in general, most people don’t braid for the USHJA divisions or something like the Futures, unless they need a picture or a sale video or some similar reason. It doesn’t affect your placings in those classes.
Nothing to add but shouldn’t that be “Conformation Hunter” and not “Confirmation Hunter” on page 15?
Yep
As someone who does this a lot, I would pay the non-showing fee. You can ride in the rings whenever they are done for the day & often that includes jumping in a ring or two. You can pick & choose how much traffic you want to deal with & have no pressure to jump a specific course. And, in a ring open for schooling over the jumps, if it’s not busy and is a “little” ring, it’s always okay to pull out the boxes to make guide rails and make an x. Everyone understands babies have to start somewhere . It will be the best investment in your baby. Have fun!
