Pro Pics from the All NewEngland Hunt.

You’ll have to pop in your name and email to see them, but here are some photos of my horse and I at the big All New England Hunts Joint Meet held Saturday, Nov 12th.

She looks like she’s having so much fun!

Took this from a trot. She was too strong and threatening to ride the heels of the horse in front of her, so I chose to hold her back a bit.

Photographer missed this one. We had just jumped a big stone wall that’s out of view. Everyone was taking the little one on the right. We went for the big one on the left.

Moving on after a check.

I had a blast this morning going through all the photos and wanted to share!

There’s photos of the whole hunt in there…not just of my horse and I…incase anyone missed it…

So sorry Daatje, I took a look at them, and then I got distracted and started to do other things and forgot that I was going to post!

Your horse is lovely and it looks like a fabulous fall day!

Very cool! Your horse is so pretty. She looks like one regal lady.

Those pictures are beautiful and I have always wanted to go on a hunt! One day I will! Until then, keep the pictures and stories coming.

You both look great–and like you’re having a lot of fun!

Thanks guys!

You never know when there’s silence from the “other side”.

Hounds - I’ve never had so much fun on horseback as I have while foxhunting! This was the conclusion of our 4th year and we are definitely hooked for life.

Acoustic - Thank-you! You should most definitely find a way to go foxhunting someday.

OneGrayPony - Happens to us all! I can’t tell you how many threads I mean to post on, but never do! It was a perfect day and a memorable hunt.

Here’s a question…of those four shots, which two (or maybe three) would look nice framed on Daatje’s shrine…I mean my living room wall?

Wow, looks great!

Man, foxhunting looks sooo fun!!!

I love that your hunt on a “non-traditional breed”, your lovely Friesian! She really looks game, and folds her knees so tightly over the fences.

I looked through some of the other pics and swore I saw at least one Morgan (and it being New England, Morgans are probably more common there than out here)

I’m doing a Hunter Pace with Los Altos Hounds tomorrow, on my big Morgan mare

Thanks for sharing pics. I have been “following” you guys for awhile.

BTW - what kind of saddle do you have? Just curious

Thanks Fancy That! Here’s another shot of her on the landing side of that coup from the first photo in the original post:

It’s a different photographer, which means more photos to browse through!

You know, I never thought I’d end up where I am right now. 10 years ago, when I brought baby Daatje home, I figured we’d do some dressage, showing, maybe driving…foxhunting didn’t cross my mind until 4 years ago! Since I only have one horse, she wears many hats. I used to get all kinds of hairy eyeballs, but not anymore. There’s actually one other full Friesian and two half bloods in our hunt. The other purebred is a hilltopper, but the half bloods are good jumpers. (not that the other purebred isn’t a good jumper…I think it’s more his rider who prefers the flat)

Daatje jumps very well, always clean and very handy in a sticky situation.

Oh yes, there are many Morgans here! At least 1/2 dozen in our hunt are Morgans…we have full drafts too!

We just got back from the last Saturday hunt of our season and I took 170 photos from the saddle. I’ll post a few as soon as I get the chance.

Ooh, yes, my saddle. It’s made by Nickers Saddlery in Canada and is a Sensation G4 Jump. Treeless. The only saddle that hasn’t made Daatje’s back sore in the 4 seasons of hunting in 4 different saddles! It’s a bit curious looking, but it has been a godsend!

I’m a fan of Daatje!

Oh yes, that is your Sensation jumping saddle - I forgot that’s what you had. Bet your mare appreciates the freedom/comfort of treeless.

I finally found something to fit my Propane-Tank-Shaped-Morgan…a County Innovation XTR in XW (and the Innovation runs psycho-wide…way wider than other County models) LOVE IT!

See?
