Did he steal a piece for a snack? haha Every time I see a mule or donkey hooked up like that I picture the scene from Curse of the Black Pearl where Jack wakes up the donkey with a hot iron. Always felt sorry for the poor thing!
I was there right as they were starting for the day, and the handler handed him a piece. Handler did have a small stick, but all he did to start was say get up. Of course, enthusiasm may decrease later in the day.
