The barn where I feed at and keep my horse at is feeding the ProElite Senior now, but it’s only been for a week or two. All the horses but one likes it and eats it just fine. To me it smells different from TC Senior but it soaks faster. I was giving mine the TC 30 but when I had the hay tested I got a nutritionist to balance the minerals so I’m not using the diet balancer now. I might in the future but the NSC is higher than the TC 30. Not much, 13.9 vs 9.8.

I have found a few pieces of whole corn in the bags but occasionally I did in TC as well so for now,the horses are fat and looking good. The seniors there are 31, 29 and 28 and still look nice and plump

Glad to hear it, rubygirl!

Was really hoping the senior was a little less sticky and less likely to brick in the cold, but the it feels just like TC Senior right now–haven’t opened it yet, but it’s certainly one solid clump o’ grain. Did laugh when they brought it out…figured SS just hadn’t uploaded the bag graphics to the site. Nope, the bag really is just a blank, blue bag.

Maybe we’ll get lucky with it this winter. It’s looser to me than TC - fewer pellets than TC, like the pellets are softer and disintegrate into a powder in the bag. It’s hard for me to explain. lol

I picked up some this week as my closest Southern States has made the switch. Can’t complain too much yet especially since it’s on sale buy 2 get one free from now through the end of the year. I looked at all the vitamins minerals and probiotics and compared the two. For the most part the ProElite has higher vitamin and mineral concentrations, and higher limiting amino acid concentrations than the Triple Crown. And I laughed at the fact that it still comes in a “brick” just the like the Triple Crown, and yes its just a blank blue bag right now. I also buy the ration balancer, but I haven’t needed to restock that yet.

I’ve got bags of the Diet Balancer, but it will be another week or so before I can start transitioning to it. It smells REALLY good though!

I’ll be trying the Sr most likely in a month or 2, depending on how my old guy starts looking. He typically needs TC Sr starting late Dec or so, but some of that depends on the hay quality, and how cold we are.

The blue bag is a short-term solution, as they’re still working on the final versions.

I knew about the milling changeover, but thought my SS was still going to be able to carry TC. Found out this morning that isn’t the case. I’m bummed, and aggravated. Got 3 bags of the Proelite Sr to try, thankfully they still had stock of the 30%.

Looks like the Proelite Sr is about 200 kcal/lb less than the TC Sr.

Any reviews on this for a hard keeper? I was feeding Triple Crown to 3 of 5, so was sort of forced over to this, as we’re limited in options, but my hard keeper is getting Ultium. I’d like to try the performance for her since its cheaper also, so wondering how everyone’s horses are doing on this feed.

Bumping to see what everyone’s opinion is of the ProElite now that they’ve been feeding for a few months. My gelding is on the TC Senior but my local SS is no longer able to supply it. There are currently no other dealers in the area with TC in stock so I’m about to be in a bind. I just moved him to the senior feed a few months ago so I’m really bummed that I’ve got to switch feeds again.

My barn I’m currently at switched to the Pro Elite Senior. They are feeding the same amounts as before and I haven’t noticed a huge difference. One of the horses does look better on it, and the others look the same. It smells really good and the horses seem to eat it quicker than the TC Senior.
