I have aTB fox hunter that I’ve had on the following feeds and amounts during the height of the season ( which is now). Always free choice hay/pasture.
Triple Crown Senior and Complete- 12 lbs a day along with 2 lbs of the 30% fat supplement on top. He couldn’t eat more and this just slowed his weight loss.
Purina Ultium- 12 lbs a day along with added 2 lbs added amplify- Couldn’t hold his weight.
Pro Force Fuel- 9 lbs a day with 2 lbs of the SS States fat supplement on top. He held his weight, but his coat and hooves went to crap. I got a bag of the XTN to add into his feed the day/evening before hunting. I only added 1 lb. JET FUEL!! I can’t imagine how he would have been if his whole ration had been XTN. He was fine when we were on a run, but when we came to a check where he had to stand still…he was a fidget, just couldn’t wrap his brain around it. He had been fine in the past with standing on a loose rein. As soon as I removed the XTN from his diet, he was back to his normal self.
Seminole Dynasport- 6lbs a day with 2 lbs of their fat supplement on top. His weight is holding well and I have room to bump his feed up if I want to.
