Progress Tracking

For those of you who track training progress, via whatever medium, what are specific items do you like to track or keep up with? Time ridden, weather, ride summary, etc…

I’m trying to beef up and change my progress tracking up so I’m looking for inspiration.

I use Horselogs. It’s free. I not as good as I used to be about writing a lot about each ride. I use it now just to track when I’ve lessoned, when he got shoes, vet, etc. It’s easy to use but difficult to search. But, free is good.

I use Equilab and Notion! I like Equilab since I can track duration & weather whereas Notion I can track things like feed restock etc

I use an excel spreadsheet for tracking.

I use Equestic - not cheap but I like the time-keeping for each gait and the symmetry analysis (that’s REALLY what I’m paying for).

I’ve just started using Equilab after somebody on here recommended it. It’s very good for logging time spent in paces and number of transitions. I have been using Onenote just as a general note taker.

The only problem with Equilab is that I won’t be able to use it when I’m using my Pivo as obviously the Pivo needs the phone for the camera.

Does Equilab not have a iWatch app? I’ve never used Equilab so I’m genuinely not sure.

Good question! I didn’t think to check whether it will link to a watch and on investigation I may be able to link it to my fitbit. Thank you :grinning:

If you have an Apple Watch you can definitely use Equilab as a standalone separate from your phone

I’ve used Equilab (free version) for years now. I really like it!

I just got a Pivo and have been using Equilab for a while and was thinking of the same dilemma. Then I remembered I could use my old phone for Equilab (WiFi sync all the data) and my current phone with a better camera for Pivo.

I keep a journal to log my rides and any other important info. Personally, I have better consistency with an actual journal instead of an app. I track: ride time, dressage or jump saddle, where I rode (indoor, road hack, derby field, etc), main focus of ride (trot sets, lateral, transitions, etc) and then if it was a lesson, I try to jot down a few main takeaways. I also track vet visits, feed changes, shoeing, injuries, etc in the log. I think I might look into some of these apps as a secondary source of data….

So glad to see this thread. I am starting my horse back to work and would love a tracking app.
Would someone please help me figure out how to get the free version of Equilab for my iPhone? All that I see in the app store is subscribing or the choice of a free trial. Thank you!
