PSA: A downside to riding more

Just make sure to factor into your budget that you will need to replace breeches more frequently.

It’s a good problem to have.

I’ve bought a couple pairs of $30 breeches off amazon and while I know for sure they are not as good as 'real" ones, I have been very happy with them. I am by NO MEANS a breeches pro but for what I do (rattle around on a spooky horse in hot weather) they have been really good. I’m taking them on our pack trip in a couple weeks.

Yes, good problem to have!

I got some of these too and I have been pleasantly surprised! My two pairs of “Amazon tights” are now my favorite to ride in.

For every day, hard-wearing, long-lasting, you cannot beat www.saddlebums.com - I have a pair of tights that’s 10 years old and still going strong. They wear like iron but are so comfortable. Once they have your size on file, re-ordering is a snap

I bought a pair Carhart leggings at Tractor Supply on sale for <$50. So far they seem durable and are very comfortable for riding. They even have pockets on the front of the thighs for treats or a phone, though the zipper pocket is a little small for my phone. I need to get another pair or two.

I’ve bought several breeches off Craigslist/FB Marketplace. I wanted real leather full seats, not the fake ones, and funnily enough the ones I found were all white ones from dressage riders, that had some marks on them. Show breeches, apparently, where the stain didn’t wash out.

I look pretty spiffy on the first day I go riding in them. 2nd and 3rd days, not so much.
