PSA: Decent Reasonably Priced Bridle

If anyone is looking for a reasonably priced traditional flat hunt bridle, the HDR one is really quite nice. I paid about $80 for it and it looks lovely on my Arab. I was worried even the cob size would be too big, but it looks fine on the smaller settings. It doesn’t dwarf his tiny little head either.

I, too, have the HDR and LOVE it! Looks great and is made really well.

Have had mixed results with the hunt bridles sold by Tack Wholesale. The first one I bought (oversize, chestnut) was so beautiful I was lugging it around asking knowledgeable hunters what they thought I paid for it–average guess, $200. That was for a $69.00 bridle. Second one (horse, havana) is solid, looks nice, but is stiff and not at all the same. We have been using it for 3 seasons field hunting and it’s held up well, but I wouldn’t brag on it. They’re on special right now.

Good to know

I just bought an HDR bridle on Ebay. It was $69.95 plus shipping and included reins. Hope it looks nice and I’m hoping it comes before Saturday. I recently had a big horse given to me and his face is too big for my cob bridles.
